Great advise on here, set of new quality lifters to go with new cam, personally i done gear drive /fit & forget, but need to check crank run out 1st for that option

Is this a filter that gets changed, or is it more of a screen I need to clean. What is or are some key things I need to check tolerances on to verify its just the tensioners.
It's a metal screen filter that you remove and clean. The thing you have to see is if it clogged that material came from somewhere! You need to track it down first so whatever caused it gets fixed. On the early engines (pre 2007) it's typically the inner of outer cam chain tensioner. If those have gone bad we recommend you upgrade to the later hydraulic setup. While it cost a little more it gets rid of the known problem ones, for good ones, piece of mind in a good solid upgrade is worth it to most. Make no mistake, OEM pumps and plates are absolutely fine.
