03 FI Road King.
Issue started recently.
Riding on the back roads at speeds below 60, everything is fine.
Get on the freeway and once above 65 or so, check engine light will come on.
Shut it down, restart and no check engine light until back up to freeway speeds..
I checked for codes, no joy.
I took it to the Dealer and had them plug into it, no joy. That cost me $148.00.
Have any of you experienced anything like this?
I really don't have a problem with it but if/when, I decide to sell this bike, I think this could be a problem. I know it would scare me away if I was considering buying a bike.

Did you short the 2 pins on the diag connector to get the codes? You won't get ecm or tssm/tsm codes through the speedo interface.
$148 to plug in and read codes, literally a 10 minute job, one hour minimum I'm guessing.
If the plugs don't cure it, and since it's possibly speed related, remove and clean the VSS,(vehicle speed sensor), it's magnetic. $0
Also unplug the VSS wire connector and check the pins and sockets for corrosion, 2003 was the last year with no data buss and a 12v sensor reference instead of 5v like on later models.
Since buying this bike a year ago, I have been slowly replacing things. I think I'll go ahead and get a couple new plug wires since based on my conversations with the PO, other than oil changes, he pretty much ignored everything else.
I just topped off the tank yesterday so I'm going to have to go out and burn off some gas before I pull the tank since I only have a 2 gallon gas can for when I empty the it. I could just drain 3 gallons and put it in the wife's cage and then save the last 2 gallons in my gas can but where's the fun in that?
Good way to tell is you have historic codes is to observe the engine light at Key on.. Typically the light goes on for about 4 seconds and off. If it goes on for 4 then off then on for another 4 there should be a historic code.
It would not surprise me that misfire codes don't stick.
