I bought a 2005 Electraglide ultra classic with a Lehman trike kit. Looking for some advice. Here are what I know about the motor. 1550 conversion kit w/ high compression pistons, ported heads, SE performance valves, compression reliefs, SE203 cams, SE K&N air filter. Has a SE EFI race tuner kit, not sure of the tune.
I think I need to look at Lifters & push rods. I would like to get some more power out of it; the trike kit is heavy & i am 250. Should I look at a different tune & cams? All input is appreciated.
Thanks, BH
One way to make it pull like a decent two wheeler is displacement- expensive, but good results. I went from an 88" to a 117, with a bigger stroke flywheel (4.375") from Darkhorse, and a set of cylinders & pistons from Suburban Speed- (low compression 4.125"). Bored the cases, new bearings. Combine with a cam that fits where you need power (I used the TTS150) and big chamber heads (i used 103+ heads) & it turned out decent.
Not sure about the M8 option but agree with thumper on the 117; even an upgrade to an all bore 107" would be an improvement. Not matter what the OP does WRT cams, tune, etc. there is no "replacement for displacement".
Should I look at a different tune & cams? newer, more powerful trike? Probably yes.
See what your budget and support.
One hand, Very expensive engine upgrade.
Other hand, Very expensive trike upgrade.
