I'vea query to ask other VRSCR owners, do their front forks knock, as they load up under sharp braking? On my2006 bike, bought new on 1st april in QATAR (middle east) at a saving of around $8000$ on what I'd pay fora 2007 modelin the UK. I've been into the dealers here in the Middle east with it, fearing the head bearings we're loose, they say not and it a common characteristic to the Street Rod - I'm not convinced -Has anyone else had thisnoise / suggestions how to cure/minimise it.

 

Do a search on that problem on this site. It's been talked about before in the Dynas and Softtails section. Sounds like same as them. The nut on the stem may not be tight enough. There was a change in torqe specs for that nut. I think the orig specs said it should be 35/40lbs and really it should be more like 85/90 lbs

 

I agree with the comment below...I also have heard of this issue.
From what I read it was a torque issue also...

 

My 06 just started clunking in the front end. Good thread here, seems as if everyone has it.
