Default Night Rod Special Performance Upgrades

I purchased a new 2016 Night Rod Special on Friday!

Here are some upgrades that I'm considering. Tell me your thoughts. This is my first V-Rod.
  • Progressive Suspension Fork Spring Kit (P/N 11-1535)
  • Progressive Suspension 13" 970 Series Piggyback Resevoir Shocks (P/N 970-1012)
  • Vance & Hines Competition Series 2-into-1 Black (P/N 75-113-9)
  • K&N Air Filter (P/N HD-1102)

Thanks.

I would use the Screamin Eagle Air Filter (part number 29793-02C)over a K&N Filter. Better filter, it's washable and no oil to mess with. K&N filter allows small particulates by the filter and ends up in the intake.

Don't forget the tuner

I have the same front suspension on my 07. I highly recommend the Arnott air shocks for the rear.
I traded my Bub Seven 2/1 exhaust for a Vance and Hines Power Shots. The 2/1 exited exactly at my right ear, my ears would ring for hours after riding a short time. The Powershots are perfect for me and look nice.

Thanks.

For the 2016 NRS, V&H only offers a black or stainless steel "competition series 2-into-1" full exhaust or "widow slip-ons" per its website.

I looked up the Arnott shocks. $1,600. Yikes. Looks pretty cool, though.

Here is another alternative on shocks. They are custom built per your specs.
