A few years ago the plug to the wiring from the stator leaked. H-D did a redesign and that took care of it. I have a 2012 and no leaks anywhere.
17 model year may be the last year of the V Rod. However many think that there will be a replacement in the works.
Welcome aboard Vlad.

Do you think there is a reason for them to discontinue the v-rod, I heard and researched that 2017 model is it's final. Could it be the maintenance issue or something else, because by the looks of it it's a great bike and I have witnessed a lot of great reviews, it's just little stuff like that, that I cannot over look. Little details are very important, I hope you understand. What's your take on the discontinuation of the model?

H-D has a history of discontinuing models only to bring them back later. In 2011 H-D said the Road Glide was discontinued. Then with the 2012 was a Road Glide "Custom". the only difference was it was lowered 1 inch.
In other models it took a few years for a comeback like the Lowrider.
With H-D stating that they are looking into a "unified frame" that could mean to H-D a revolution motor in a different frame is a different bike.
Time will tell.
However the current V Rod is an exceptional machine with an engine that has an impeccable history of durability. Mine will out last me.

I hope you are right, but I wish you last longer than your bike haha, I am actually looking at Roadster 2017 from Sportster series and expecting making a pick up in a month, even though V-Rod is great, but length of it was something I did not consider. Because it is nearly 96 inches long, it's pretty big for a guy who is 5.6 feet tall I just decided that 84 inch bike will save me some trouble moving it, but I am very excited to start riding this bike. I always liked HD and thought that loud iconic sound in the middle of the night indicated someone was having fun with it, and also if you are in a dark the bike is loud enough to alert other drivers around, I think its a valid point, safety wise. I'm new, I know you guys can tell.
