Picked up the V rod last week, great bike, I am a bit height challenged so I will like to lower the bike without lowering it to much, so I am thinking, would it be best to buy a lower seat ( suggestions please ) or to get a load of the seat taken out and have a gel pack in there with layer of foam?
What year and model VRSC do you have?
Not all VRSC's are "V-Rods.
The "Street" is not a V-Rod. Unless you are referring to a VRSCR "Street Rod"?
If you have the VRSCR, (2006-2007 model) you have the highest ground clearance VRSC model ever produced.
It wasn't popular and was dropped after 2 years of production. So not much accessories on the market for that model.
Just for your info and knowledge.
The model designations are as follows
VRSCA: V-Rod
VRSCAW: V-Rod (Wide Frame)
VRSCB: V-Rod (Basic no Frills Model)
VRSCD: Night Rod (180 Rear Wheel)
VRSCDX: Night Rod Special (240 Rear Wheel)
VRSCF: V-Rod Muscle
VRSCSE: Screamin' Eagle CVO V-Rod (2005)
VRSCSE2: Screamin' Eagle CVO V-Rod (2006)
VRSCR: Street Rod
VRSCX: V-Rod (Screamin Eagle Drag Bike Tribute Model)
VRXSE: V-Rod "Destroyer"
This is my VRSCR Street rod. looks like I'll need to cut the rider seat down a bit and get a gel pad in there, incidentally I find it much hard to ride with forwards than height.
Nice R model. I'll agree with you on the foward controls, but there is a way around that.
I added full size adjustable Iso floorboards to my A model, and now i can move my legs around from mid position to standard touring position.
HD only made a few different seats for the R model and they are so hard/impossible to find. I would recommend finding a good seat shop (mean cycles) never used them but hear lots of good things about them and get them to get the seat the way you like.
I think Corbin, made a lower seat for the "R",the guy i ride a lot with has exactly the same bike, same bike, same colour, great bike.
I'm not sure that's a standard seat,it looks more like a reach seat, but i don't know if Harley made one,it may just be the angle of the Photo.
