Default 2003 Vrod

I am in the process of buying a 2003 vrod with zero (0)miles, yes zero miles. the bike is still on the skids it can on and the owner just starts its every 3 months. never been registered. My question is what am i supposed to look for since it has never been ridden at all?

Oil seals have probably dried out Maybe Gaskets also. Bearings could be rusted from inactivity. Belt could be cracking. Oil, Oil filter and coolant need changing as well as fork oil. Check Brake pads, Air filter and any other service items.

Get yourself a service, electrical and parts manual (Harley Davidson only. No Clymer or Hayes).

2003 was a great year. Good price.

www.1130CC.com is the place to go for V-Rod information.

On top of what Rusty said, tires are probably hard as rock and should be changed out.

Why was 2003 a great year? For harleys? Or just in general?

Agreed. Do new tires front and back, along with the belt.

Tires have a shelf life anyway regardless of mileage. Some say 6 years, I do 4 years but normally mileage does them in before that.
