he is asking $6200 for the bike 2003 Vrod. Am i looking at an additional $1K for tires, belt, oil +filter change, coolant change etc? Than pushed the overall cost to $7200. is it still a good deal with zero miles ?

depends on what the current owner has done to the bike. Ask them about the listed items and what if anything has been done.

There is no need to change the belt. They do not deteriorate like rubber.

I also doubt that any seals are bad. Just ride it around the block a few times for about 50 miles at 30 mph. That way issues should reveal themselves if any.

No need to immediately tear into it. I have several much older low mileage bikes over the years in my collection and never had to do anything. I have a 80, 87, 99, 2000 and a 2003 with all original belts, tire, seals or whatever. Only recently did the brake fluid.

That is a good price and you did fine. Enjoy!

That's more than I would pay for an 03. That model has the small gas tank which is a minus IMHO. Besides, I've seen pretty low mileage 03s around here for $4-5k that have perf exhaust, tuners, etc already installed.

I'm seriously considering going back to a vrod and if I do it will be an 07 or later which has the bigger fuel tank and slightly larger engine.

Buy it, change the tires, enjoy! That's it.

I’d pay that price. Cars and bikes that have zero miles definitely get a premium for what a typical used one would go for. But I’d buy it for the same reason the person that has it now has been holding on to it for 15 years for.

If I ever wanted to buy a V-Rod to actually ride again, then yeah I’d want a later one with the 1250cc, bigger tank, and so on.

Mileage and condition are everything. The bike isn't even near to being broke-in.

Normally I would agree, but IF he's going to ride it the advantage of near zero miles goes away because Vrods will go many miles with little or no maintenance but like anything adding miles will cause depreciation. Good condition is definitely a big plus though so I'll grant you that. Mine had almost 40k miles on it and the engine ran like new, I kept in in great condition and I have seen many with relaitive high mileage but otherwise in good condition that I would not be afraid to buy.

I don't know how discontinuing them is going to affect them over the long term. Parts/accessories and good vrod techs have not been plentiful(in my experience)over the years so now that will become even more of an issue.

Bottom line, if you like it buy it, they are extremely fun to ride.

I would assume he is going to ride it and of course the more miles he puts on the more depreciation - but that was the point.
