Well I went though the proceedure, got the code and cleared it. PO263_Rear Injector Open/Low EFI. Gonna take a ride and see if it pops up again, going to hang on to that appointment at the dealer just in case.
-Edit-
Rode about 90 miles, light hasn't come back on.
Could it be crap in the fuel making the injector stick open?
Maybe
Make sure you're using good gas and look into a high quality fuel system/injector cleaner. It could be a whole lot cheaper than taking it to a dealer for them to tell you something is just dirty. If the light isn't staying on I'd think that you'd be okay to use a fuel cleaner and ride the bike to see if it works. If it's staying on you might have to pull the injector and inspect it and the wiring or take it to a dealer/service shop. Another thing you should check is that the connector is clean and fully seated on the injector.
Good luck, I hope it proves to be a little dirt that is cleanen up easily.
Thanks for the advice, I'll give that a try before going to the dealer. Hope you and your wife are healing well since the accident. Any more word on the bike?
The 'ol lady and I are okay, still just trying to heal. She is still having really bad headaches and I am having problems with my leg (makes me shed a tear down my leg when I hit it on something) but all in all we are healing fine. The bike claim isn't settled yet, I don't expect it to be for quite some time. Then the work begins................
Alright this thing is frustrating me. Any idea where I can get new injectors? Tried searching the net with no luck. I'm just going to change both, seems like the problem comes and goes whenever it wants so instead of risking major repairs i'll just put some new ones in.
