I just bought an 07 Night Rod Special...........still breaking it in but am wondering what can I do to make it a faster scooter????? Of course I want the most bang for my buck. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance Jethro

125 is at the crank. I got about6 hp out of $1000 in exhaust and air cleaner but that is because I went to 2-2 without baffles. I was told by the dyno-tech (who himself owns a V-Rod) that if I put the baffles back in I'd probably see a 8-10 hp increase.
This being said, about 14-16 for a $1000 for 2-2 and 2-1 are usually better for hp gains.
so .. about 132 hp to the crank gets you 142 mph .. I'm seriously looking at a v-rod to complement my dyna; but I want to make sure it'll do everything I require other than keep me thrilled with raw power and acceleration *lol*
If your reference is to my 142 mph, that was on my "A" when it was stock with no modificationsand the VRSCA is only rated at 115 at the crank because of the exhaust. The engine is exactly the same with all of the 2007 and earlier VRSC models with the exception of the SE and X models.
Crankshaft hp is a crap measurement, the only real measurement is how much you're putting on the ground.
I unfortunately do not know how fast the stock 1250 is, sorry. Because of the relatively new production of the Revolution engine it has not been around long enough for an accurate estimation of longevity, but I have heard of many people with over 60,000 and absolutely no problems. I have read reports of expectations of well over 100,000 before any major engine work. I personally would expect the Revolution to outlast its air-cooled brothers because of the lack of extreme heating/cooling cycles.
