Default Lifting a VRod

When cleaning my Fatboy I use a small lift under the frame to allow getting the tires off the ground. Even with Oil Cooler under the frame I can rest the lift on the frame.

How do you guys lift your VRods? The lower pan hangs under the frame rail. Do you use a cradle to catch the frame?

Thanks for your help.

The bottom is completely flat and no components hang below the frame. The oil pan is tucked up and between the two bottom frame rails, and the fuel tank is protected by a skid plate.

A standard two skid motorcycle lift works fine.

Hmmm, not on mine I'm afraid.

The bar is resting on the oil pan fins and they are lower than the frame rails. I have a simple scissor lift for the Fatboy but took off the two cradle extensions. Now to try and find them so I can lift the VRod LOL

Well I found the solution to lifting the bike.
While at Princess Auto (Canadian version of Harbour Freight) I found this small lift with frame cradles.

Hi Thunder Truck. I use a "Harley Lifter" available here in the UK. It is a simple stand like a bike centre stand with a height adjustable support running left to right under the bike and a long lever for lifting. I used it on my Sportster, and have used it on my VRSCF for 11 years. Like your bike the VRSCF oil pan is lower than the fame rails. There is a flat plate under the frame behind the engine. I hold the bike upright, the Harley Lifter slides under the plate, I lean on the lifting lever and up the bike goes. Depending how far forward or rearwards I put the lifter under the plate, I can raise the front or rear wheel.

Thank you for the detail. I'll use the plate and see where it balances.
This winter it goes on the bike table for the clutch upgrade and change the front pulley (28 tooth from the current 30). Also want to clean and exercise the front calipers and see if I can get better brake lever travel, I almost squeeze my fingers if doing a 2 finger stop.
The stand will help while cleaning the polishing the rims.
