I wouldn't drop it that quickly. It got fixed too quickly not to smell. I'd at least go in there complaining (in a nice way) about being without bike for 7 weeks. Might even mention calling Harley to see of they would offer you anything in compensation.
You should get some free service, parts or discounts at least out of this.

easy burt i have been waiting 8 weeks for a fender from the factory for a superglide 05 like theydont have a 100 of them i think both of our cases suck big time and we had some great wearther for awhile and miss out big time .
