New Rider saying HI!
I've ridden behind my guy, but never had my own bike. Yesterday I got my own bike - an anniversary V-Rod and love riding the beast. It's a little intimidating to feel the power and I know the V-Rod is light compared to other bikes, but am still getting used to the size.
Anyway, the bike is amazing! It has the anniversary logo on it and lots of chrome. Hi to all of you and I hope you 'll be patient with the questions at first. I have two now:
I thought the anniversary was two tone black and silver - this bike is black/silver tribal flames - is that a custom job or did Harley thing? I'm going to have it repainted black/deep purple ghost flames because it matches black leather better
I know you guys care a lot about co-ordinated outfits right? (not....) I'll post a pic of the tribal flames if it will help.
Second - it has a 3 gallon gas tank? Give me a break, that gives it a range of 100 miles? Is there an option for replacing the tank. I already learned that what I thought was the gas tank is an airbox cover.

Welcome to the forum. You are correct, the Anniv. paint scheme is black/silver. You can see this if you go back to the forum and check outPost a PIC of your V Rod hereand you'll see my04 that has the Anniv. paint option.
Yes, there is a 4.9 gallon tank that can be installed.

Welcome! I'm both a member here and at 1130cc.com. Both forums are awesome. 1130cc of course is exclusively about VRODS..they have a classifieds section which is where i bought almost all my chrome..DO NOT PAY RETAIL.
That paint job is most likely a custom job. Everybody wants to make their ride their own by changing up everything.
If you want the extra almost 2 gallons,Ricks tank is the way to go. I havent bought it because I dont do long road trips so i cant justify the expense..I'd rather get my new skins.

Thanks a lot for the info on the 5 gallon tank, placed the order today. Maybe off topic, but the weather in so. cal. was great for riding. I was introduced to "Cook's Corner" in Mission Viejo that must have had 200 bikes parked in front. Really a lot of nice people.
