Default Street Rod in the UK, Hi All

Hi All,

Just wanted to say "Hi", I'm new to the forum. Just bought a 2006 model Street Rod from Harley dealer in UK. Great bike, I'm 6ft 6 and find it a really comfortable ride. 2K on clock(ex demo). Can someone put me right on a few points?

1/ are the cams ger driven or chain driven
2/ Is engine noise common under 2000 revs until it comes on song(cam)
3/ Are the clutches very "on or Off", and don't like being slipped at all( noisy if done)?

Great to own a peice of American Iron at last.

Cheers Dudes

Simon

change the oil to synthetic. I had all of the questions you did, until I changed my oil for the first time. I put in Mobil1 V-Twin, and now the clutchis smooth and the engine noise decreased significantly.

Cams are chain-driven

Chain driven, as stated. Because of the length needed, they are overhead, and that there are four they have to be. Here is a picture from a cut-away at the manufacturing facility with red arrows pointing to the chain:

The Revolution likes to be at a higher RPM than it's air-cooled brother. I would try not to run it at this low of a RPM. You're not necessarily going to hurt anything but the engine isn't making any power here so there is no need.

The VRSC clutch is hydraulic, it's not going to feel the same as a cable pulled clutch. Hydraulic makes it hard to slip, so yes, they are more "On or Off" than cable clutches.
