1130cc.com ???
Here it is, read it and agree or disagree, it doesn't matter. I am not attacking ANYONE for their opinions or where they choose to hang out. I am simply trying to provide some information that some of us may not know, which may in turn allow the reader to make a better informed decision about their bike and have a better experience with that bike.
The original thread starter is entitled to his opinion, just like everyone who disagrees, that 1130cc is comprised of a bunch of a**holes. I disagree. I find (yes I said find because I still go over there to find information) that the members of the forum try very hard to be informative and forthright with people no matter their position or understanding. The biggest problem I have is with this site being labeled as "informative". The sitechooses to allow you to read what it wants you to read, and everything that does not meet up to that standard gets sent to never-never land or outright deleted. Providing a lack of information or only providing one side of something does not make anyone informative, it in fact makes themUNinformative.Let me explain with an example:
If car A has a small block 350 cid engine and car B has a big block 454 cid engine it is very obvious that car B has the larger engine. If we all are on a website to talk about these engines we should be able to talk about either. If a newbie comes in a only knows about the 350 engine, the other members should have the opportunity to inform the newbie of the existence of the 454 engine, as well as offer the pros and cons to such. If the forum we all belong to despises big block engines and decides to delete anything about the big block, the newbie will not have the opportunity to hear about and develop their own opinion about the big block engine.Furthermore, if the forum that we all belong to gets a kick-back or makes a profit by selling these 350 engines and deletes the information about the 454 engine to boost it's own sales of the 350, the forum is by far failing to be informative. If any member inour forum attempts to provide information that the forum does not like, their posts are deleted and they are promptly banned from coming back. Our forum can do whatever it chooses to do, it has that right, but for me as a member of this forum to sing the praises of our forum as being informative is downright incorrect. I don't think anyone has done this out of spite or done so intentionally here, I am merely trying to explain my disposition.
One thing that struck me as I read through this thread is a comment made by our Administrator here:
Never was the thread going to be deleted, it was going to be "Locked" to end the discussion taking place but be left for others to read and formulate their own opinions. That is being informative and allowing us big boys and girls to make the big decisions for ourselves.
The other thing I have noticed is that some of us feel like this place is boring (no violet, I'm not talking to you directly, I use to share the same opinion) and that other forums are not. This boredom is perceived because of the lack of new posts that occur in the VRSC section here. Let me pose this: When any of us go to another forum do we ever only hang out in the section specifically about the model of bike we ride or do we also hang out in the General Section, the Off-Topic section, the Area sections or the Classified section? Because I ride a VRSCA does that mean that I only go to the VRSCA section? It is NO for me and I would imagine that it is the same for all of us.
The other forum we're discussing has obviously more information about the Revolution engine and the VRSC line of Harley-Davidson, no one is arguing that, but if you take anything for this post it should be that you should look aroun
