I need to lower my 07 AW for my wife to ride and I'm in need of some 12' shocks, eye to eye, off the bike. She's just a little thing so I dont want a shock thats been cut down or has a heavy duty spring. Anybody have any take-offs? I'd post this in the wanted section, but not too much VRod stuff there...
You're best bet is to contact Progressive suspension. They were making a new 440 series shock for the Wide Tire models that modify the dampening. Last I heard they were close to having them availble for sale.
There are folks who have used the standard V-Rod 440's for their wide tire bikes, but my thought is that if they are making one specifically for the 240 tires, they would be worth waiting for.
Hey welcome to the site! I've seen you on 1130cc, welcome!
Yes I've been to the Progressive site, just didnt want to spend $400+ to see if my wife "likes" the way the bike feels.....

Hey RJ, Welcome to hdforums! Good advice on the 440's I'd too wait for the new shocks.

Consider using 412's. A little less expensive. You will be able to sell them again if you don't like them and the loss would be minimal.
Actually yes, the 412's do look like they'd do the trick. I'd spend the jack on the 440's but she'll find a reason for me to either sell the bike soon, or change something. Sooo......
I did some measuring tonight, and if I put on 12 inch shocks, that would give me about 2 1/2 inches of travel before the tire hits the fender. So I think I'll buy some 12 1/2 inchers. Any thoughts on that one?
