Help with V-Rod decision ...

He told me this one was sold, but he invited me to swing a leg over it. Fit like it was made for me. Then he says it's on hold, but not sold and I could probably have it if I wanted it now.
So, I need some information. Do these sell for msrp, are they marked up, or discounted? Are they in short supply, or can I just wait for spring when I'd be in a better position financially to do this. I'm afraid of the beating I could take trading in my SG, but it's an '07 and I got a pretty good discount when I bought it (still bone-stock).
Any information is appreciated, specifically about the pricing of the Special, and experiences you've had trading in late-model H-Ds for new ones.
Thanks ...
If you want it, I would jump on it while they have it.
You could wait and it (or another) might be there or you could not find another. It's a tough choice but I would never recommend to anyone to jump on something just because it was around when it might put you in a financial jam. If you can swing it, go for it. If you can't, don't, there will be something else that comes along.
I always buy used as I find pulling any new vehicle off a stealer lot is a loss the moment it happens...at least 30%. However, it's gotta be the right vehicle as no or limited warranty's are killer if you geta bad egg. I do find that my patience and research wins in this area every time.
Just my $.02.

Paid 14,200 for my FXDL new... sold it back to them three months and 5k miles later for 15k, and picked up the VRSCDX for about 500 below MSRP.

Herr Monk, where are you buying? Here in NY, two dealers I checked are marking them up at least $1000, and are offering me quite a bit less than what I paid for my SG. If I couldget abetter dealon the trade and get a VRSCDX for close to msrp, then it's a no-brainer.
