I have yet to see a pic of a couple riding two up on a NRS. I just want to see how my wife will be sitting...cramped,leaning? If she will be comfortable then it will be a hell of alot easier convincing her that weNEED this bike. Any comments or pics would be helpful. I know we"ll need to get a better seat...or just go with the fatbob.
If you are going to be doing a lot of 2up riding get the fatbob instead. Although you can change the seat, pegs and get a sissy bar the vrod IMHO is not a 2up bike.
Seeing as how we have 20,000 miles on our VRSCD and 10,000 of that is riding double, I think I can safely say, V-rods ride doble just fne. You do need the Sundowner and a sissy bar. After about 7,000 miles, my wife wanted a taller sissy bar than the HD medium-low available for the V-rods, so we had Ginz Custom Choppers make us a custom one. We bought the bike with the intentions of using it for weekend trips. It's a great over-night bike, regardless of the opinions of the airhead riders.
Our next mod is going to be air shocks. Not that they are really needed, but I would like to get my pegs up a bit more on some of the twisted back roads we ride.
Enjoy the ride. Make sure you get your wife comfortable on the bike. The more comfortable she is, the more you get to ride. In my opinion, there is no greater joy that having your wife along for the ride. (That coud explain why we just celebrated out 29th Aniversary last month.)

It's not that you can't go 2up but it is not the ideal bike for it. I have owned every line of bike harley sells and the v rod is the least practical for long distance 2up riding. Over night may be fine but do multiple 4-500 mile days on it and see how your passenger feels. I have had many miles on my v rod and would never have a passenger for trips, period.

I hear ya. I just wanted to clarify where I was coming from. I've seen some crazy stuff with people going 2up on bikes that probably shouldn't even be on the interstate.
Ultimately you have to do what works for you.
BTW, the v rod is a great bike and I as an owner of one would not "down" the bike as I think HD needs to consider this platform for all of their bikes.
I ride with my boyfriend on his nightrod and to be honest its not comfortable, but I am so used to a sportbike that its very very odd to me. But Its not too bad, just hold on because its easy to slide right off the back lol.

Sounds like your boyfriend still has the stock passenger seat. Seat is a loose term. It's more like "the black thing that cover the fender". As easy as it is to change seats on the V-rods, he needs to do you a favor and bust loose $65 so you can enjoy the bike too!!
There is no way my wife would have done 10,000 miles on the stock seat. We have two seat sets; the stock rider seat with the Night Rod touring pillion and back pad with the H-D med-low sissy bar and a Sundowner seat package with a tall custom sissy bar.

I was eyeing up an NRS too..girlfriend rides with me 50% of the time and once or twice a year do a week touring which brings me to this question..what they like for packing up stuff on them?Are there any options for saddlebags,rear carriers etc?I own a SB at the moment and it's fine for both pub crawls,weekend riding and touring but..godamn it the NRS is such a mean looker MUUUHAHAHAAAAAA !!!
