After reading some recent posts a little hesitant to post here.(seems we get pretty testy in this forum) I had a 05 sporty now a 08 street bob. It gets very hot here in South Korea, and if you get a flat on a spoked bike you can figure being, down for 3-5 hours while bike is trucked in, tube changed and tire remounted.
So thinking about selling the Bob, and buying a vrod and adding a faring, hard bags etc.. for touring.
UiJongBu to ChuenChon would be a blast on a V-rod.
It would really eat up the miles on the Seoul to Busan run.
It's been a while for me, but if I remember right, the area around Sorak San just begs for a V-rod.
I disagree. You just need to learn the V-rod. Our bike has over 11,000 miles riding double. Over 23,000 miles in all.
Have you changed any gears out, have any engine mods? Curious, I really want to have a bike a bit more sporty than my Street Bob, but I want to be able to cruise two up for 300 miles if I want to.
Alot of people have changed the front pulley to the international pulley including myself 28 tooth to the 30 tooth, which widens the gears a bit and reduces the cruising RPM by about 400 RPM's. The Revolution engine is a different animal all together and comes alive where the air cooled peaks out. There are also some that have converted to a road rod.

Thanks.
Nope, the only thing we have done is add a Sundowner seat and a custom sissy bar. Our longest day was 600 miles.

Great, this is what I was thinking. Hopefully, my Street Bob is sold and I will be in the market for a VROD.
