Default Sprockets

Are there bigger front or smaller rear sprockets available for the VRSCA? Or how about wide ratio tranny gears?

Have not heard anything about tranny gears or with the rear pulley.

You can get a 30 tooth front sprocket, which was OEM on the 02-03, but your bike has the 28 tooth. The larger front sprocket will allow you to go faster, but your low-end will suffer. It will be harder for you to get away from a stop light, especially if you have a passenger on.

Why does the tranny have such a close ratio? The difference between 4th and 5th is not a whole lot. I would like to have my RPMs in 5th lowered by 1000RPM if possible. 70MPH at 3000-3500RPM should get better gas mileage. Leave 1st gear where it is and spread out the other gears a bit and I think we would be in there.

Fifth allows the RPM range to be in the power band. If it was a taller gear, and the RPM was lower, you would be on the low end of the power band and the performance would suffer. The Revolution is happier at higher RPM than the air-cooled engines. Take your redline on your other bike and divide it by your operating RPM. Now take the redline for the V-Rod and divide it by the operating RPM for the same speed. I would imagine the numbers are about the same. You might be a little better on fuel-mileage, but performance, and maybe the engine, would suffer.
