Default Question

A local dealer has a left over 2009 Night Rod Special for $1000 off the sticker price. Bike is brand new and come with full warranty ect..... my question is are there any differences between the 2009 and 2011 models other than colors of paint? The bike they have is even the the color I would choose (Black Denim) only thing I would want different is I dig the orange stripes on the new ones...

They're the same. The last major change to the V-Rod line (aside from adding the F) was 2008, when they got a wider frame, 5 gallon gas tank, slipper clutch, Brembo brakes and they bumped the engine from 1130 to 1250 cc's.

Good point I over looked.

Malcomx, thanks for the info. I thought that was the case but wasn't 100% sure.

Also a bigger battery in 08 and exhaust cam change in 08 (eliminating the compression release)

Forgot those. 08 was also the last year for the best bike no one ever wanted, the Nightrod.

I would just get the 11 model. You have to remember HD lowered the price on the 11 model vrods. So this might not be the best deal you can get. I paid less then 15,000 for my new Niterod Special. You might want to check a few more dealers if possible. I think you can beat the price you speak of. I was at a dealer a few days ago and looked at a 09 leftover niterod and they wanted 16,500 for it. Even with a 1,000 off that price, a new 11 niterod special is still cheaper.

I paid 15000 for my 09 in early 09. Worth your while to shop around call a bunch dealers and get them battling over price.

I paid 14,500 for my 11 DX. It pays to shop around. I shopped around and the dealer I purchased this bike from had everybody beat on prices by a mile. I purchased it in Nov. 2010 as soon as it came out. I rode it home form the dealer in 50 degree. I loved it as soon as I started the bike. I loved it even more when I rode it home. I will own nothing but a HD Vrod from now on.
