So, I helped my buddy take his VRod to the shop (House of Thunder, Morgan Hill, Calif) today.
It runs on one cyl. It had done this once before. Santa Cruz Harley (RIP) had told him it was a bad plug wire.
The lwr exh pipe is totally blued from heat (probl from being the one cyl firing. It had started cutting out on him a few miles from home, so he rode it home that way (mistake?)
Morgan Hill Harley asked for 2 hrs diag time ??!! Wow ! I thought !!
He was talking like isolating the firing issue, then looking into the motor.
It did NOT sound good.
This is hard for me to believe . Is this unusual?? His stuff is PRESTINE!!! This bike has *maybe* 5K miles on it. His Ultra & his Deuce run flawless. He's an older guy, not a throttle jockey.
Any thoughts from other vrod owners would be appreciated.
Yea I don't think it's a normal issue. but go over to 1130cc.com and see if any of them know of any Issues. I mean from all the research I did before I got mine was due to them being Problem free and able to Run Hard.
