Dumb Question ?
Hi, Pretty dumb question for a first post but.... If you could buy a 2006, 0 miles, Street Rod for $10,000. would you do it? I know the Street Rod is even less popular with the traditional Harley folks than a standard Vrod due to it's peg location and stance but I just can't see how a guy could go wrong at that price. I'm coming over from Sport Bikes and I think it may be the best transition bike.
It's either that or as much for a 5 year old Dyna or Softail
Thanks

I think it would be excellent. I ride sport bikes. I ride the H-D big twin and V-Rod. Don't give a hoot what any close-minded rider thinks. The Street Rod would be fun in all kinds of ride/road scenarios, and certainly better than the V-Rod in the curves. It would have characteristics similar to a naked/standard bike, (though with a longer wheelbase), meaning fun in the curves, great in the city, and a backroads blast... but not so hot on longer rides hanging out in the wind. Though the H-D catalog has all kinds of transforming options. Go for it if you find it tugging at your heart -- this is key.
Well in a V Rod forum...of course people will start suggesting you should go for it.
My personal opinion:
Dump question indeed. This bike is excellent!
Great weight distribution, it feels lighter than a 700cc streetbike I was riding on once upon a time. I managed to lift the bike up by myself alone once I had an accident.
You get more horsepower and Torgue you can handle without having to squeeze the power out of the engine.
Customizing options. Customize it, and your name will be written all over your bike.
Of course you become a member of the Harley Owners Community, the most organized biking group all over the world. Have you ever ridden among 30 harleys going all BROK BROK BROK BROK BROK....? It feels great. Trust me. Now,30 Harleys is nothing compared to the thousands that are being gathered pretty offten.
Anyways, I am going to stop now, cause they told me of someone is considering wether he should by a Harley not, dont try to convince him, maybe he just does not have it in him. Some harley owners are not owners because of the philosophy, the bought one just because they can.
If you are thinking to much about it, maybe you should get a Yamaha Fazer. Its fast and gets the job done.
Harley is more than just riding from point A to point B.
By the way, where I am from, I had to spend 23000euros for my bike. Night Rod special. If I was in USA, I could buy it so much cheaper.
