Hellow all,
Just got my first H-D. A Black 2007 VRSCAW. Can't wait for the road salt to clear out and take er for a roll. Been a long time Yamaha Virago 1100 rider but been without a bike for about a year now, first time in my 43 yr life. In the meantime, been uncovering the new bike regularly and taking this and that apart checking things out, waxing, riding it from the garage door to the rear wall of the garage (30' tops), drooling, etc... The bike came with the silent security system and I installed the SMART SECURITY II SIREN and was wondering how you adjust the sensitivity of the motion sensor. I saw someones answer on a similar question but this security system has a buttonless key fob and the proceedure didn't work. You only have to have the fob in your pocket and no buttons to push for arming and disarming.
I have an 07 Sportster with the alarm and just checked the manual... there is no sensitivity adjustment on this new system... only a transportation mode... aint that a pisser? I do recall that the sensitivity was one of the biggest complaints with the old system... it can be adjusted on my older V-Rod
I read the manual cover to cover and doesn'tsay a thing aboutsensitivity but figured there may be a way of flipping the ignition on-off and blinker combination to change it. There is a round protrusion on the end of the alarm unit and looks like a cap can be removed and is maybe an adjustment but wanted to be sure before breaking someting. I'd like it to be a little more sensitive but no biggy if it's not adjustable. I just want to ride er. Nothing left to clean or wax.
