replacing v rod tail light?

replacing v rod tail light?

Has anyone done this? I have asked the shop but they refuse to ask my questions and want me to them them do it. I just dont see spending 75 buck replacing something as simple as a tail light. Some help would be much appreciated.

to take the tailight off get a screwdriver and shove it in the hole above the license plate. and pull up on the tailight, it comes out easy

This way works well but be careful, you can snap off the little tabs on top of the light. Pull outward from the bottom. (Up, outward, it all means to pull away from the handlebar end from the bottom, not up as in sky up)Don't force it, if you run into difficulty you can reamove the rear fender skin and remove it from the inside also.
