Denim paint scratches easily?
A buddy who works for the MotorCo said to be EXTREMELY careful with the Black Denim paint on my new Night Rod Special as it scratches VERY easily and once it is scratched there is not much that can be done to fix it...no buffing, etc.
Can anyone throw in their 2 cents on the subject...is this true? Is there a way to fix or reduce any scratches? I haven't scratched mine yet, but any precautions would be appreciated.

The hot rod car world has been using flat clear coats to achieve the same look for a few years now. Harley may have done the same but it may be possible to touch up the Denim with an application of flat clear. The denim is supposed to age like blue jean denim, that is to react over time with with contact to give a similar used look as an old pair of jeans.

Have not heard but I'd think that it would be the same as regular paint---if you rub it against something sharp it's going to scratch. I have heard that it is very difficult, if not impossible, to fix without repainting the piece. Just be as careful as everyone else is with a new bike and you should be fine.
