So, I finally got me a Harley. I have a 2014 Ultra Limited. Loving it. I live in central Florida so I still have plenty of riding weather. Upgraded from a Suzuki Boulevard C90. Getting used to the more upright seating but the overall ride is SO much better!
I do have one question, I bought the bike from a fella who unfortunately got Dr's orders "No more riding" and it only had 700 miles on it. He upgraded the exhaust to Vance and Hines Dresser Hi Output Slip Ons model 16455. I asked if he had the engine retuned for the new exhaust and he said no. He had a Harley dealership put them on. Wouldn't they have retuned the engine for the new exhaust or is it possible it was not? I'd hate to pay for the retuning if it's not necessary.
Anyway I'm happy to be here. Been all over this site. It is by far the most informative.
Congrats on the new bike and welcome to the forum!!!!!! I also bought my first Harley and had v&h slipons installed from the dealer. And my friend is a Harley tech. And the answer from the dealer and my friend was ,,, No tune needed with just pipes... They both said that if I change the air cleaner then I need to retune. But not with just the pipes.. You might be getting a lot more popping. But that's about it! Good luck with your new bike !!!!swifty
