Hi guys and gals,
New guy here from Kernersville, NC. First time Harley owner as of this summer. Bought a 2014 Heritage Softail Classic. I've owned English and Japanese bikes over the years, but my last ride was a 250cc Piaggio scooter! LOL It's a bit of a change to the Heritage. Like it a lot, and swore I would keep it stock. Well you know how that goes. Bought a set of "fangs" to ease the helmet buffeting right away and it helped by about 90%. At 59 HP stock, it had enough power, and the sound was "ok", but when is "enough" and "ok" really enough? So last Sunday I installed a set of Vance & Hines 3" twin slash slip-ons, a Fuel Moto Pro Billet air cleaner, and a Powervision tuner. Downloaded the custom tune that came from Fuel Moto and rode for about 20 minutes. Ran ok, but got a lot of decel popping. Today took it out for a 20 minute ride and used the basic autotune feature. Downloaded the new tune and took a ride and most of the popping was gone. It felt much more spirited as well. Next time the weather is ok, I'll run autotune a couple more times and it should be great.
Wanted to thank you all for the informative posts that helped me solve the buffeting problem, and helped me decide on the performance upgrades. This seems to be a knowledgeable, and friendly place!
