Hello everyone, my name's Ryan, and I just picked up my new-to-me 2003 FXDX Anniversary Edition. Literally a couple of hours ago. And it took me all of about 20 minutes more to get on here and set up my profile. Can you tell I'm excited? After a series of metric cruisers (from an original '83 Shadow 750 to a Vulcan 1500 Classic, and a V Star in between), this is my first H-D.
A little about the ride - it's blue, 18k miles, with full Stage 1 kit, including SE filter, SE II pipes/Monster Baffles, and re-jet kit. Quick release driver and passenger seat backs, hard bags, 100th Anniversary windshield, alarm, etc. And pretty much every 100th Anniversary badge one can get. I spent about an hour on the road this morning, and other than adjusting the ride height of the rear shocks, it doesn't need a thing. I bought it from the second owner, who'd had it since 2006 and put 12 of the 18k miles on it.
It's been a warm winter here in Utah, so we've been riding on/off even in January and February. Now that the days are getting longer and morning/evening temps more bearable, it will be a daily driver. I commute about 25 miles each way to work, and I do so on the bike just about every day. I've never owned anything new enough/comfortable enough to venture out for longer weekend or week-long trips, but that will certainly be changing this year.
