Hey guys, just wanted to introduce myself... My name is Jeremy and I am from central Illinois... Late last year I got a 1986 Softail Custom. It was my late step-fathers, it went to my step-uncle who subsequently fell very ill with kidney failure and the poor girl sat in his small shed for 4 years. I took it and was working in it when he passed away late last year and I have come now to own it... So enough with the back story here comes the good stuff!!
It's an 1986 softail custom with the maroon frame... I have come to believe they may have only made 900 that model year.
Goodies:
Stock bore with forged KB stock compression pistons
Stock lower end
Barnett clutch
Dyna "s" ignition
Jerry Branch heads
Andrews EV3 cam
Python full exhaust
S&S Super E with teardrop air cleaner
RC Comp Imposter wheels
Chrome everything...
So, back to me... The old girl is great but she is a bit finicky... And we have been having some troubles, so I have been combing around here for quite some time trying to learn more and more! I just rebuilt the whole upper end but am having carb issues and now a starter failure.... Hopefully soon we will be tearing up the streets and scaring old people and small children with our ferocity! (Or more likely just casting all worries aside cause I'm cruising through the country highways on my bad *** bike! )
