New to this forum. Bought a 2005 Sportster 883XL with 1493 original miles in Sept. 2015. Had ridden motocross all my life, but development in my area overtook all of the good riding spots and life got in the way of traveling to ride. Had shopped online and window shopped the bike shops and consulted with co-workers who ride for a couple of years before taking the plunge. Most everyone I talked to advised me to get a bigger bike starting out, but felt it necessary to start slow having never ridden over the road (legally)
To this point, mostly commuting, but have taken a few nice early morning rides through the rural part of the area in which I live. Plan to do more of that now that the weather is breaking. Have gotten comfortable enough to begin looking for an upgrade to something a bit bigger, as my wife has shown an interest in riding along.
