Really depends on your preference and if you want to spend more money to get the FI. Either way you cant go wrong. Check some of the other post for feedback on topics like this. Several have been done.
My summary:
FI-easier starting, cost more initially, cost more to modify, slightly better fuel mileage, more parts (sensors, etc.)
CARB-cheaper, have to manualy choke, easy/cheaper to modify, slightly less fuel mileage, less parts, slightly deeper sound.

Welcome to the forum.

I like efi better,

You dont have to let the bike warm up and i think it gives better throttle response at lower rpm.
It all depends on you. If you are going to do engine mods and own a efi do all the mods at one time and get it tuned on time. If you do mods at different times than all you have to do is change jets in carb each time.

Definately EFI for the money! ...easy start..better running at upper elevations when your in and out of the mountains! I had a carb 1200C for 3.5 years..now that I have EFI..I'm spoiled...took some getting used to not looking for the choke to start up! (still feels weird not having to check the fuel petcock position when riding!)...

I have an EFI at the house, and today I put 120 miles on the same model bike that I own, only with a carb...

If you can afford the EFI, I would recommend it. Much bettter overall, most notably when starting and before the engine is warm. After the engine is good and warm, little difference.

Downside...money. Time will tell how all these sensors will hold up.

I'm glad I have the EFI...

I live in central AL, elevation 3000 above sea level. I have a carb bike, and have ridden through many moutain passes up to an elevation of 11,000. I never had a problem, no popping, no difference in throttle response. The bike never seemed to have a lean running condition. I wouldnt use the above statement for making a decision.
