Hi All! I'm just now finding all these forums so I can learn as much as I can about this "Harley World"!
I've been riding in the dirt and on the street for 42 years now...raced motocross for five of those years...I counted up 26 bikes that I can remember, but I'm sure I'm missing some! I think I'm finally done...just got my '06 FLHTI a month ago and am kicking myself for not doing it about three decades ago...I've got some catching up to do! I figure if I can ride this EG for the next 25-30 years, I'll happily ride it to the nursing home of my choice, hand the keys to my kids, and tell them, "Here's part of your inheritance!"
In between riding, I was able to work in twenty seven years of military service...in six different branches! Guess I just couldn't hold a job, huh? Started out in the Coast Guard, then Army, Army Reserves, Air Force, Air Force Reserves, and Air National Guard! I guess you can tell I didn't like deep water or Marine drill sergeants! I'm currently a 70% disabled vet, but I feel very fortunate I can still ride! There's a lot of folks out there that don't have this luxury, and I won't ever take this opportunity for granted!
This looks like a great forum, so I'll close this rambling so I can check it out further!
Keep an eye out for deer this time of year! I've gotten reports from three friends who have had associates tangle with deer in the last two weeks so far...they're all ok, but banged up pretty good, and lots of damage to their bikes!
welcome from eastern nc!
