Intro
Background:
Was a Honda guy in the 80s. (boy AMF ruined some stuff!)
2001 - WANT a new night train. Everything AMF wasn't, including chrome-less.
2002 - Wanted a racecar more, started road racing with NASA
2006ish - Rider friend suggested a Harley for me within earshot of my wonderful wife. I replied nicely that a bike could come after the racecar was gone.
2011 - Guy offers me a nice bundle of cash for the car. Couldn't say no.
2013 - Tell my lovely wife I'm going to look at another racecar. She replies "don't you have enough 3rd place trophies"? Don't buy.
2015 - Randomly looking at used Night Trains and Deuces (love the tank), nothing serious. Like the new Breakout though.
2017 - Turn 50, need a present to myself. Time to do it - Searching for NT, found a local dealer with an '04. Head to them, but stuck in traffic. Get there, and a guy is already signing papers on it. Realize I WANT a Breakout, but am "settling" for a NT. (no disrespect for the NTers, just that I would get one, lower it, +3 degree triple tree, and big tire it) BAM, I'm in 5 digit prices total.
So, after much stressing, on 4/28 I got my 1st HD. Sweet deal on a 16 leftover red Breakout. 3 miles on it when it got to my garage. 15m on day 1, 45 on day 2, and 100+ on day 3 (PCH through Malibu and canyons). I've been on it everyday I've had it.
I feel just like a little girl:
