Hello HD Forums. Doing this a little backwards, first post was in FLST threads.
So new to Texas, from AZ originally, then lived in So. Cal. for a decade. Had a '92 FXD for over 15 years & rode a lot of dirt on everything from an old 2-stroke Husq to Yammy Honda & Suzi. Long story short, catastrophic wheel failure coming off a big double in the desert & broke a lot of stuff in my body & was off two wheels for a few years.
So, moved to Texas & picked up a new FLSTN to Cholo out.
Always been lone wolf, but lately been thinking would like to find a MC or RC in the DFW area for some longer rides & event/rally trips. Since I don't know many riders here, I thought I'd start with a local HOG chapter, but after several meet ups I quickly discovered I was typically by far the youngest guy in the room & I ain't that young. I got nothing but respect for the old timers still riding, would absolutely ride with them on occasion, but would also really like to ride with some younger & dumber not afraid to twist the stick or skip a rest stop or two on occasion. Just talking 99%'ers, maybe 10 years ago that would be different, but I actually really enjoy my job & work on sensitive projects requiring SC/TSC from time to time.
I thought maybe there'd be a thread for groups I'm the forums somewhere, but every search comes back with a lot of threads of people asking questions about or discussing 1%'ers. If you know of any good groups in the DFW area or any other site or hangouts in the area, would appreciate the heads up.
This is a great place to get info and input about your bike, but of course if you need help with parts or especially wheels I’ll be more than happy to help you out!
