Hey all, just figured I'd say hi here since I've already been posting in the mechanical forums and got some great advice. I've been "Converted from the dark side" as my buddy would say. I rode crotch rockets for years when I was younger, never really had a desire to own a bike that weighed more than some tiny cars. I was hanging out with some friends and was offered to take a ride with a friend of mine on his old sportster, an offer I accepted and I'm glad I did. After not riding for years all it took was 5 minutes down the road to reignite the passion and a month later I just picked up my first Harley, a 95' Softail Heritage Classic with 11,000 miles. I've been riding every day after work since and it's been fantastic. Definitely hooked (again... kinda), and I definitely see the allure of the big bikes now.
Anyway, as my buddy said: I've been converted to the light. I just have to throw a rear tire on this old beast (That's happening this weekend. Got a fresh Pirelli MT66 ready to go) and I'm looking forward to some long, long rides. Not to mention the saddle bags are just big enough to fit my ammo boxes and I'm looking forward to throwing my steel on my back and riding to the range in style on the weekends now! Enjoy two hobbies in one day, am I right? hah!
