Just wanted to introduce myself. I've been looking for a good forum . I'm 50 yrs old and riding an 86 FLHT. My bike has been down due to my reartappet lifter block coming loose and spewing oil all over the rear tire and as a result I went down too. So I figured that the best thing to do in conjunction with this repair was to get new chrome in addition to the gasket sets I needed to get back on the road. So I ordered chrome tappet blocks and rocker boxes. old ones had to come off anyway. ......and an S&S E -carb.
I just finished painting the cylinders and heads with VHT Crinkle Paint. Took all day to mask everything and twenty minutes or so to paint. Looks sweet . New dilemna>> Do I sand the edges of the fins or stay all black. leaning towards all black. Just picked up my seat the other day...had it reupholstered down in Reading. Also waiting for my Father's Day order from Chicago Harley.......
Chrome timing and primary covers.. Saved 200 + over the local shops. New chrome inspection covers, braided oil and fuel line and
more.
Once this paint dries I'll start putting her back together. Can't wait! Hoping to be on the road before July 1st and being at the 4th
of July event down in Newport. Again, hello !
