For 34 Springs I've listened to some Harley or another and just sighed and moved on. I had a nasty accident in 1985 on my Sportster. Not my fault. I'd been riding almost 10 years at that point. My former wife made me promise I wouldn't get another one until the boys were through school. I kept the promise and then some.
This year, at the tender age of 66, I finally got another one. I'm not one to take to the road, which eliminated the big bikes from my shopping list. Sportsters, while still a favorite, seemed a little unsuited to my older temperament. The Fat Bob, now that one got my heart rate up. But the Street Bob seemed perfect. A bike just for me - a single seater sitting low. More motor than I've ever had. I picked from one of two on the showroom floor and it's sitting in my garage now.
I'm taking it slow. Waiting on the weather to warm up. I'm not going far on it. Just up and down the block(s), until I get my riding legs again. Then the real Spring begins.
