Hello,
I am new to the road! Have ridin dirt mostly, street a lil, not enough to mention.
I was fortunate to be able to purchase my 2006 softtail standard outright and not have to pay sales tax (to CA.) Anyways. In July, the 20th to be exact, my father and I went down to Harley gittin place in Auburn Ca. To take a lookskee, since a feller i knew had been trying to get me to buy his used dyna. Walked in(to C&E) with open eyes and mind.could have bought any bike on the floor, Geezer glider to a screamin eagle. I was like a kid in a Harley store...and. it was the coolest day, to ring the bell! I was able to ride off without having to get ahold of my ins co. This was great concidering it was the week end. I must say it was the best B-day any 33 yr old could ask for!

I tell a lot of new comers to the forum to get: Factory Service manual and the Parts manual. Get a three ring binder and record all your maintenance, repairs, accessories, etc. This will be a great reminder of what was done when. And great material to pass along to the new owner should you sell and upgrade. Also know how large your fuel tank is, and record your fuel usage. I have an app called Simply Auto that I record all my fuel used. I use the odometer and use the fuel gage as reference only. I reset the odometer to zero on fill ups, and I know I can safely get 200 miles on a tank on around town riding.
