Hello,i have been searching the forums for a couple of months now gathering info i needed for the bike i just purchased from the harley dealer.its a 2016 iron xl 883 with 880 miles on it and a 1250 hammer kit on it.of course i have modded the bike out since then to my liking including a new 31 tooth front drive pulley.that made all the difference.i will be ordering a saddleman step up seat today to just about do the trick on this build.any who,i am 54,love to ride and burn up the roads.i have put damn near 4k miles on it in a few months.will post a before and aft pic when i get a chance.

Then you will see doors marked for the mortuary, skeet shooting, a room where we make fun of In-Jun bikes, and of course we have a ahh, umm, oh yeah a across the hall.
We had a BOMB MAKING room but, well, ahhhhh, 1 of the guys just didn't understand Blasting Caps very well so..... you know.
We have our own pub .
There are several places where you can familiarize your self with the .

2) Then come down to and Roll Over “Harley Davidson Tech & Mechanical Forum”
3) Then come down to the section that would be most appropriate for your question like Audio Systems, Engine Mechanical Topics, Exhaust System Topics, etc… and CLICK on the topic you have a question about.
You will find the knowledge here is EXCELLENT and these here mates are willing to help you in any way they can. ‘juss be careful. There are some “Trolls”, so I suggest just ignoring them ‘ole farts.

Welcome from Spartan Country, Michigan! I tell a lot of new comers to the forum to get: Factory Service manual and the Parts manual. Get a three ring binder and record all your maintenance, repairs, accessories, etc. This will be a great reminder of what was done when. And great material to pass along to the new owner should you sell and upgrade. Also know how large your fuel tank is, and record your fuel usage. I have an app called Simply Auto that I record all my fuel used. I use the odometer and use the fuel gage as reference only. I reset the odometer to zero on fill ups, and I know I can safely get 200 miles on a tank on around town riding. Good Luck!!

will definitely be getting the manuals.as far as gas mileage goes,i was getting around 42 mpg riding in 40 degree weather as i have a vision tuner that tells me everything the engine is doing.and that was before i installed the 31 tooth front drive pulley.i may be closer to that 200 mark to a tank with the new pulley and warmer temps now idk.im working on my 1st tank of gas now since pulley install so we will see.i ride the country hills here in tn and my speed is usually 60-70 mph.its a blast with the 1250 hammer kit installed.this is my first harley and it is perfect with how i set the bike up for me.i will never sell this bike ever.i love it too much and i absolutely hate it when i cant ride due to weather.i plan to put over 100k miles on this bike.thx for the advice :-)
