Default Hello from

I am not new to Harley's but its been 25 years since I sold my 1978 Electra-glide (I still have the chrome fender "Elecra-glide" titles in my garage).

I sold my bike years ago while in school, I had rebuilt the rear cylinder 3 times over 50,000 miles in 3 years and there was a low knock in the bottom end so I sold it and bought a BMW. I have had 3 BMW touring bikes since then and they have been pretty bullet proof, I have 78,000 miles on my current 2003 R1150RT and about 250,000 miles riding.

But.. I was in the Harley dealer the other day and a 2018 Fat boy caught my eye and I am considering buying it for ripping around town, typically I put about 8,000-10,000 miles per year on a bike and nearly 90% of it is in town.

The question I have is the bike has less than 100 miles on it yet I don't see it has a warranty?

Like did the dude drive this or was it a show room floor queen for for 2 years?

What should I be concerned about?

Is the M8 engine really something that can be reliable?

Fixing bikes is not an issue for me, I am a pretty good wrench and not afraid to fix stuff..

Thanks ahead of time.

Hiya GM, this “Welcome Area Only” section is for, well, welcoming only. Like, introducing yourself and what Harley (hopefully Harley) you ride.

Stuff you are talking about up above in your OP (Original Post), needs to go to the proper and more relevant area to get our rider’s input.

In the UPPER LEFT corner, just take your mouse and ROLL OVER “Forums” and come down to the section (or subsection) that you feel is most appropriate. It is that easy.

Thank you my friend for understanding.

It is GREAT to have you here with us.
Warmly & Respectfully,

BuzzCap7

Welcome from Spartan Country, Michigan!
I tell a lot of new comers to the forum to get: Factory Service manual and the Parts manual. Get a three ring binder and record all your maintenance, repairs, accessories, etc. This will be a great reminder of what was done when. And great material to pass along to the new owner should you sell and upgrade. Also know how large your fuel tank is, and record your fuel usage. I have an app called Simply Auto that I record all my fuel used. I use the odometer and use the fuel gage as reference only. I reset the odometer to zero on fill ups, and I know I can safely get 200 miles on a tank on around town riding.
Good Luck!!
