Welcome To The HD Forums From Michigan, The Home of Hell, And The Greatest Of The Great Lakes States ... Everyone Here Knows Something And Some Here Know Everything !
Welcome from Spartan Country, Michigan! I tell a lot of new comers to the forum to get: Factory Service manual and the Parts manual. Get a three ring binder and record all your maintenance, repairs, accessories, etc. This will be a great reminder of what was done when. And great material to pass along to the new owner should you sell and upgrade. Also know how large your fuel tank is, and record your fuel usage. I have an app called Simply Auto that I record all my fuel used. I use the odometer and use the fuel gage as reference only. I reset the odometer to zero on fill ups, and I know I can safely get 200 miles on a tank on around town riding. Good Luck!!
Hi, my name is Bob Welsh and just purchased my very first Harley! I purchased a 1996 Electra Glide Clasic (FLHTC) Full touring package! I would like to know if this style bike can be lowered as Im on my toes when stopped, it hard to keep steady while up right! would feel more comfortable if I was feet were flat to the ground! if anyone out here has any suggestions, it would be appreciated!
Thanks
Bob
Welcome Now you can have your seat reshaped, Best way and you don't have to use them is go on Mean city cycles, they do seats and have a good explanation of what they do. Next this will cost you, change your shocks or they sell a lower kit (another cheaper way) they sell them at J&P cycles and Dennis Kirk, to name a few. Mods to the seat will get you about 1 to 1 1/2" down. Also your boots get the ones with higher heals.
