Welcome from Alaska. The jiffy stand is a secure stand as long as you see/ensure the tang on the top slides into the stand bracket when you lean it left. On the intercom, mine is a stock HD that comes on the Ultra, which we don't use LOL! We just yell back & forth.
Welcome!
I've had no problems with my stand in 5 years. Just make sure it's all the way forward before you lean the bike on it and get off! That's the closest I've come to any issues at all, and it was my own carelessness.
The few times I've had anyone else on my bike with me, i've been happy for the respite from having to carry on a conversation. Gave me time to think of something intelligent to talk about at the next stop... so unfortunately I'm not much help with the comm system.
First, welcome to the forum. I have owned other bikes and Harley's-had a Beemer for 16 years. IMO, I like the harley jiffy stand better than the BMW side stand. That said, I loved the center stand on the BMW--especially when doing maintenance. As to the intercom- I love when my wife rides with me and we are able to hold a conversation instead of yelling to each other. I have an 05 Ultra with all that stuff on it. It also makes it great when taking the grandkids riding. They are a bit nervous, so I can talk to them and they relax very quickly. Soon, they are really enjoying themselves and I do too. It is so much more enjoyable when the passengers aren't real scared. Enjoy your new ride and the forum.
