Sounds like you sheared the key on the input(clutch) shaft. You probably are shifting internally in trans, but you aren't connected to the primary drive. Thats why the kicker doesn't grab. I hope it's that, I had the same problem on my old Knuckle but it was actually the shaft itself that had broken. It made a lot of grinding as the clutch was laying in the bottom of the cover, spinning with the engine. When it happened on my newer 4 spd it was just the key and no big deal to fix.
