Jon Kelley here folks hello and hope to converse with you sometime. First a little about me. I am an IT networking engineer by trade. I live in Winchester, VA. and love it. There is nothing like the mountain roads for a nice clear your head ride after a stressful day of IT work. I am a Virginia boy at heart and don't plan on leaving. I have been riding since 2000 and only ever owned Harley’s. A Harley is all any family member of mine has owned and that is the way it is with me, although I am impressed by some of the Victory bikes.
I started out with a 2000 XL1200C and finally traded it in on my 2004 fatboy. In September 2006 I purchased a 2007 Street Glide after thinking long and hard about whether to put bags on my Fatboy. I made the decision not to put bags on my fatboy and turn it into my hot rod crusier. I plan on upgrading the engine to the 103 and 6 speed tranny. A Performance Machine Phatail wide tire kit and wheels will go out back. My Street Glide will remain stock with the 110 motor and just add exhaust. I like it just the way it is.
My other hobby is model trains. I collect and run HO scale trains modeled after Norfolk Southern Railway with locomotives and passenger cars from predecessor railways like Southern and Norfolk and Western. My layout is currently under construction on rainy days when I can't ride.
I love to get on either bike and just go, do not need a specific destination. My favorite day trip was from Winchester to Roanoke and back to Winchester all in the same day. I went to Roanoke to the railroad museum where the real locomotives of some of the models I own are displayed. I also ride every year in Rolling Thunder in Washing D.C. to show support for our troops past and present that have given their time and lives so I may ride free.
Well enough for now. If you would like to know more please do not hesitate to shoot me a message.
