So just got my first harley about 2.5 months ago. 98 sportster 883, loved it and started working on it to make it my own right off the bat. I quickly felt like I was out growing it. So I went to the dealership and got a 98 wideglide. No I didn't trade my sporty, I still love the bike, I was told it already had a 1200 conversion, not sure tbh, but I'm going to put a 1275 kit on it well, because I can. I've also started tinkering with my dyna mainly cause it was running lean when I got her. Found out the s&s super e carb is a little harder to tune than the cv on my sporty I've done jetted it once, still lean and running hot, it had a bad engine vibration at 70 before that, I managed to knock some of it out but still can't get her above 90( I know, but I love going fast!!) So I got some jets from sigma on the way as well as a thunderjet kit from zippers as well as something a little sneaky from Pete again because I can😉. I'm also customizing a oil cooler to help bring down my temps. I've been experiencing some oil blowing out the transmission breather. I was going to put a catch can and breather on it, but I just read that there is a aftermarket fix for it, the only thing is they didn't say what it was, I'm wondering if I was on the right track. I will gladly hear any advice if given, just sometimes I don't always follow it and do it my way, and learn new methods. Mainly BECAUSE I CAN.
Take care and ride hard, because you can! And remember no one gets out alive, so live free.
