Hi Folks! New guy to the forums from the Los Angeles area. Looking into getting myself a Harley for the first time. Particularly, like most other people, a Low Rider S is the main source of interest. New to the idea of purchasing a Harley, but not new to riding. Start in 2008 on a CBR600RR, then a ZX6R, ZX10R and I currently have a 2016 Tuono 1100RR that I have owned for 5 years and 32k miles. I haven't kept track of it, but I am probably getting close to 100k motorcycle miles in my life. Commuting, cruising, track days, drag strips, back canyons. I just love motorcycles in general. I'm really keen to the idea of getting an easy cruiser that I can go 2-up more frequently and with a bit more practicality. My Tuono is incredibly fun, storage is minimal and it gets ~32mpg commuting. So much fun to wail on, it is a legit scalpel of a bike, but I also grew up on muscle cars and would love to get the motorcycle equivalent to just cruise around with my girl, not give up all the speed and have some practicality. We actually rented a CVO Limited in Milwaukee a couple weeks ago and it was a stellar experience being that kind of comfy. I don't know how I would ever ride a bike that size around in LA traffic, but I certainly understand the long range capabilities. On the open highway, that thing was phenomenal.
Anyways, just poppin in to say hi. Love to hear suggestions on anything, and really to talk anything motorcycle related.
Thanks all! Working on the FXLRS purchase, but it is never too early to start learning, that's for sure.

Aside from the one rental in Milwaukee, all my riding has been in Southern California. Started in college at UCSD, rode Ortega, out to Julian, Banner Grade. Live near LA now, love Angeles Crest, and have ridden GMR and Azusa canyon. The drivers are hit or miss. Some are nice enough to give you extra space, I've only had 2 incidents of deliberate anti-motorcyclist anger from drivers and the majority just don't notice. Regular roads are definitely in need of upkeep for sure. The backroads are certainly a lot of fun though.
