new member from ohio here! Happy to have found the forum and excited to see what I can learn! I've been riding since I was 12 but have never really gotten into the repair or maintenance of a motorcycle. I'm currently experiencing a few issues with my bike and would love to figure out how to do the repairs on my own.
I have a 99 Sportster 1200 and it was recently stolen from behind a friend's house. I was able to recover the bike 3 days later and brought it home. Upon looking I noticed a great deal of fluids underneath the bike which of course led me to check the levels. The primary chamber was just about empty! I refilled the fluids and took it out. Within an hour the clutch began to feel different and by the time I got home the clutch was almost nonexistent......... I would love to know what the possibilities are within the primary when a bike such as mine is run with no primary fluid!
I've already gone and got a new clutch plates and primary fluid. Also it's been a great deal of time in the garage with my dad so fortunately I have some mechanical inclination! Just about to dive in now...... Thanks in advance
