Hello.... Thanks for adding me to the Forum. I'm from Massachusetts. Just picked up a 1972 XLCH in a Barn Find..... Poor ol' guy passed away and was a hoarder of Triumphs and Nortons but somehow 2 Harleys were in the mix of about 90 bikes. The other Harley is a 1959 that we haven't got to yet. I hope to have that in my garage as well. I'm 70 years old and the bike is becoming a great summer project for my grandson and I.
I'm in the process of wiring the 72 now without much luck...... I have the service manual but can't seem to find the right schematic that includes a Starter Relay.... so I'm at a standstill. Sooner or later, I'll figure it out.

Hi there JC. We are the same age and from the same place. And I knew a Colton. Are you from Boston or Greater Boston?
For technical questions like finding the right schematic etc., feel free to ask your question where are GREAT techies are. And that is in either (not both) links where you can post your question. In the mechanical or your type of bike subforums.
Stay well, enjoy the forums....
